² He sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, “Thus says Ben-Hadad: ³ Your silver and gold is mine, as are your most attractive wives and children.”

⁴ The king of Israel answered, “My lord, O king, just as you have said, I and all that I own are yours.”
